We are thrilled to announce that the Bristol Military Wives Choir will be returning to Weston-super-Mare to perform as part of the Armed Forces celebrations at Weston Air Festival and Armed Forces Weekend 2015.
On Sunday afternoon the Military Wives Choir will perform some of their most famous songs in the arena including ‘Sing’ and ‘Wherever you are’. They will also join the Cadets and Armed Forces VIPs for the Drumhead Service to close the event.
The Bristol Military Wives Choir formed in 2012 on the back of Gareth Malone’s series on the BBC “The Choir – Military Wives”. There is a network of choirs worldwide that reach across the whole military community, to bring women closer together through singing. As military wives and partners or women serving in the Forces, they are often on the move, which can mean being far from friends and family. The Military Wives Choirs Foundation acts as an open door in a close community which helps to create shared experiences and break down barriers, standing and singing side by side.
A spokesperson for the Weston Armed Forces Committee said “It is very exciting for us to welcome the Military Wives to our Armed Forces Day celebrations. We have a full two-day arena programme of military displays and musical performances planned, and their involvement will add an extra special element to the event”.
